Out of the “Black Hole”!

I am peeking out of what has turned out to be a 7 month black hole!  During that time, my health took a totally unexpected turn for the worse, and I was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which is a chronic condition in which the brain interprets normal sensation as extremely painful.  The brain malfunction also comes with insomnia and fatigue that has been overwhelming for me at times.

I’ve been slowly but surely learning how to live with all this, though, and to pace myself so that I don’t overdo things and end up in a place I’d much rather not be!  Obviously, I’ve been a little too preoccupied to work on the website, but it has always been in my mind.  I keep working on little projects that I’ll think would be perfect to put up on the website, but I felt too overwhelmed to actually get it on here.

What I have come to terms with from my experiments with more carefully pacing myself is that it will be much too overwhelming to continue into levels 3 and 4 of the Mosaic free curriculum right now, so we will have to work with the two levels that we already have available.  Also, I’d love to make the Mosaic 2 level as pretty and polished as Level 1, but I’m okay for now with leaving it as a spreadsheet that will give those who want some guidance a great starting place for studying Medieval history.

I do, however, really want to contine this website.  I have any number of other ideas for articles, printables, and activities that are a bit smaller in scope, and it’s occurred to me to eventually create a section for homeschoolers who have chronic illness, as well.  So, I’m coming back to add in additional content, at a pace that won’t be an undue strain!  I’m very much looking forward to it, and hope you will find some of my newer additions helpful!
